What is the Focus Dual?

The Focus Dual from Lynton Lasers combines two gold-standard technologies: Radiofrequency Microneedling and High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), to offer maximum, clinically-proven results to lift, tone and tighten every layer of the skin.

What skin conditions/issues does the Focus Dual treat?

Focus Dual treatments will sculpt, tighten and tone the skin on the face, neck and body.  Treatment can lift and define the jawline, shrink pores, reduce eye bags, lift and tone the eye area, smooth fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, and improve the appearance of surgical scars, acne scarring and stretchmarks. Deeper HIFU treatments can also destroy fat cells, tightening a double chin, the abdomen, back, underarms, thighs, hips, buttocks and arms.

RF Microneedling improves textural concerns, including lines and wrinkles, scarring and enlarged pores, whilst improving the quality and density of the skin.  HIFU lifts, firms and tightens all the layers of the skin and the layer of tissue between the fat and muscle, the SMAS layer, which is the focus of surgical face-lifts.

The Focus Dual offers many different treatment depths and intensity settings, allowing the ultimate flexibility for every treatment to be completely bespoke and individualised to give you the very best results.  By harnessing the power of these two incredible technologies, specific skin concerns can be addressed for enhanced rejuvenation.

How do the treatments work?

Collagen lifts, firms and tightens the skin. As we age we lose collagen, leading to a lack of quality and density of the skin, and the collagen that we do have can lose its structure.  These treatments kick-start the body's natural repair process to help the skin produce fresh, stronger collagen, and it also helps the collagen that we do still have 'stand to attention' to lift and firm the skin. In addition, HIFU deposits focused ultrasound energy to contract the SMAS layer below the skin, producing a 'non-surgical face lift' effect and lifting and firming on the body.

What does the treatment feel like?

The Focus Dual has an innovative technology that has revolutionised previously painful HIFU treatments. You may feel some mild heating and tingling during treatments, but this is usually very well tolerated. RF Microneedling treatments are always performed after an application of numbing cream to the treatment area, and again are usually well tolerated.

How many treatments will I need?

Treatments are carried out every 4-6 weeks and usually between 1-3 HIFU treatments and 3-6 RF Microneedling treatments are recommended for best results.  A course of 3 RF Microneedling treatments is recommended for skin rejuvenation, whereas for surgical scars, stretchmarks and acne scarring, or deep lines and wrinkles, a course of 6 treatments may be recommended.

Combination treatment programmes are recommended for ultimate results.

When will I see results?

Following HIFU treatments results can be seen immediately but will continue to improve as new collagen is stimulated.  Best results are noticed three-months after your final treatment.

With RF Microneedling treatments improvements can be seen from 2-3 weeks from the first treatment, but as the natural results get better over time, you will see the best results again from around three-months after the final treatment.

What is lovely about these treatments is that the results are natural and gradual.

Is there any downtime?

HIFU is a non-invasive treatment, meaning that it does not break the skin, and although it is a powerful treatment, it is known as the 'lunchtime face lift' because aside from some slight redness, there is virtually no downtime with no special recovery instructions.  A small number of patients experience mild and temporary swelling, tingling and tenderness.

RF Microneedling uses radiofrequency and ultra-fine needles to stimulate collagen and the body's wound-healing processes. The downtime is usually less that standard microneedling, but you can expect some redness and mild tenderness for 24-48 hours after the procedure.
