The Lynton illumiFacial is a 'photofacial' treatment with a difference. The illumiFacial combines medical-grade IPL technology with Lynton's unique Tri-Fruit Acid peel and specialist skincare serums to dramatically improve skin tone and discolouration and smooth and tighten the skin, leaving it looking clearer, fresher and firmer.

The illumiFacial is a perfect treatment for congestion, discolouration and visible signs of ageing.
This highly successful treatment will increase the overall appearance of the skin, as well as targeting specific areas of concern, including breakouts, pigmentation and redness. As well as addressing both the texture and tone of the skin, the treatment stimulates fibroblast cells to produce collagen and elastin to smooth lines and wrinkles.

What should I expect during the treatment?

The illumiFacial is a four-stage treatment, which starts with a deep cleanse to remove any impurities. The next stage is the application of the unique Tri-Fruit Acid Peel, which is applied to the skin for a few minutes to decongest pores, resurface the texture of the skin, and prime the skin for the third stage, the IPL treatment. To maximise the results of your treatment, specialist serums are applied as the final stage to soothe, regenerate and protect your skin.

How does the treatment feel?

Some people feel a tingling sensation when the fruit acid peel is applied, which subsides quickly. The IPL stage of the treatment can sometime be mildly uncomfortable but is well tolerated, often described as feeling like a "quick pinprick" or "the flick of an elastic band".
Is there any downtime or side effects?

The illumiFacial is a non-invasive treatment, and uses safe, medical-grade equipment to minimise side effects. Following treatment you may experience some slight tingling and redness, which will subside quickly. Some slight swelling may occur for up to a few days. Pigmentation may darken before flaking away. Redness and thread veins may also darken before disappearing, and you may experience some temporary bruising. You may have some areas of dry skin, and in very rare cases a small blister can form which may cause some temporary lightening or darkening of the skin. However, most people experience no side effects, and any reactions usually disappear within a few hours, leaving the skin feeling and looking radiant.
What should I expect after an illumiFacial?

As well as clearer skin, an ongoing improvement to the firmness and plumpness to the skin will be experienced in the months following the treatment as new collagen is stimulated deep within the skin. A single treatment will show improvement. However, a course of treatments is recommended for optimum results.

Is treatment suitable for everyone?
​
The illumiFacial treatment is only suitable for over 18's. A full consultation and patch test is necessary a minimum of 7-days prior to treatment to assess each individual's suitability for treatment.
